SHRIMP AND SNOW PEA CURRY

If you do not have garam masala spice below is how to make it.  (It is aromatic flavors that is used in many Indian dishes.)
Ingredients:

1 tbsp cumin seeds
1 tbsp black peppercorns
1 ½ tsps black cumin seeds (shahjeera)
1 ½ tsps dry ginger
¾ tsp black cardamom (3-4 large pods approx)
¾ tsp cloves
¾ tsp cinnamon (2 X 1” pieces)
¾ tsp crushed bay leaves)

1/2 onion sliced
1 Tblsp butter
 2 Anise star
1 smashed cinnamon stick
1 12oz bag of raw deveined shrimp remove shell/tail.
1 8 oz bag fresh snow peas
Combine the above in a skillet and fry on medium heat for 5 minutes. Add the following ingredients and cook for an additional 10 minutes.  Stir frequently.
1/2 can of coconut milk.
1/2 tsp tumeric
1/2 inch piece of ginger grated.  Or additional 1/2 tsp of powdered ginger.
1 tsp salt (to taste).
2 tsp garam masala
Stir frequently.
If you want your dish to be thick add 1tsp of cornstarch and 3 tsp of water in a small bowl and mix, then add to the skillet and keep on medium heat for 1-2 minutes then serve with rice.   Be sure all shrimp are opaque white if not the may require a few additional minutes of cooking and stirring.

If you don't like picking out the whole spices, such as the cinnamon sticks you can add powdered cinnamon (1 tsp) and if you like your food spicy add 2-3 hot peppers of your choice.  Add them when you are frying the 1 set of ingredients.

HOPE YOU ENJOY IT!
